Getting here
Friends Meeting House, 6 Mount Street, Manchester M2 5NS
The Meeting House is set back from the road. There are wide steps leading up from the pavement to the front entrance (with a ramp for step free access) and a large tree (a London Plane, for those of you that are interested) to one side of the site.
We’re right in the centre of Manchester, 10-15 mins walk from both Piccadilly and Victoria stations, and 5-10 mins walk from Oxford Road Station.
You can plan your journey on public transport with this Journey Planning website.
The nearest tram stop is St Peter’s Square (in front of the Central Library building), and there are numerous bus stops nearby. We have bicycle racks, but no car park for public use. (There are well signed car parks nearby - the closest are Manchester Central Conference Centre (formerly G Mex), and ‘Great Northern’ …both 5 mins walk from the meeting house)
If you don’t know your way around Manchester, we’re a stone’s throw from three of the city’s iconic and most well known buildings (the Town Hall, the Central Library, and the Midland Hotel); get to any of them and you’re within 100m of us.
Our building faces the back of the white, circular Central Library building (which is currently being refurbished).
If you are facing the main entrance of Manchester Town Hall, the road to the right (level with the front of the Town Hall) is Mount Street. We’re 50m along on the right.
If you were to come out of the main entrance of the Midland Hotel and look diagonally left you would see Mount Street. We’re 50m along on Mount Street on the left.
And if you need to make a quick getaway, there are taxi ranks in Albert Square (in front of the Town Hall) and outside the Midland Hotel.
We hope that’s clear. Phone us on 0161 834 5797 if you need help.
